| Publications and Honors 2000-2001: penned a column for the STAR newspaper serving the Capital District NY area. 1999: published Notes & Quotes to Love By: An Appreciation Journal, containing 300+ motivational quotes plus tips for using the power of appreciation and gratitude in your life. November 2000, University of Kentucky: recognized as A Teacher Who Made A Difference. Nominated for this honor by a former elementary student, now a professor of Special Education at Univ. of KY. Counseling and Crisis Intervention Since 1990: provides bereavement counseling and facilitates various debreifing and bereavement sessions for adult and child survivors of law enforcement line-of-duty deaths at annual Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.) Seminars during National Police Week in Washington DC and at other C.O.P.S. events throughout the year (Parents' Retreat, Siblings' Retreat, Spouses' Weekend, COPSKIDS). Facilitates CISM debriefings, defusings, one-on-ones, educational sessions, etc. for law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical personnel, and other individuals and groups as requested. Has conducted over 50 CISD's. Facilitates Recovery Retreats for Sky Help Inc., a not-for-profit organization providing intervention services for persons impacted by 9/11 and other air disasters. Counseled youth and parents in crisis for a local youth crisis-hotline / shelter program and recruited, trained, and coordinated volunteers for said program. Responded to over 150 emergency calls as a volunteer EMT with local ambulance squad. Teaching / Training / Program
Development & Implementation Shared responsibility with three other "coaches" for the development and day-to-day operation and supervision of The Learning Space, a private, innovative model school for students aged 5-17. Located in a working factory, the school emphasized independent, interdisciplinary, real-world, experiential learning in a high-tech TQM environment. Developed and marketed alcohol and smoking prevention programs for Saratoga County NY schools. Taught kindergarten, first and fifth grade children in rural, urban, and suburban school districts in NJ, IL, and NY. For 6 years, Jeanne and Jim coordinated the local Retrouvaille Program for couples with troubled marriages.
